NEW PRODUCTS - Fiskars Compact Stamp Press

Hi Everyone,
We have just received our Fiskars Stamp Presses.

These are a great tool for a number of reasons. You can layout all of your clear & cling stamps, creating your design on the press & stamp them all in one motion. Perfect for times like creating Christmas Cards where you need to stamp more than one item.
Also makes stamping jobs easier, e.g.when you need to stamp something slippery like acetate (using Stazon ink). You never need to worry about having the right sized acrylic block ever again, this even stamps those large unmounted background stamps.

Watch the video below for a great demonstration, courtesy of the very talented Jennifer McGuire.

PRINCESS IN TRAINING By Evelyn

Hi Everyone,
I have been very keen to try out the new Silhouette Heat Set Material & Rhinestones using my Silhouette Machine.
This was so easy & so much fun. I think the little baby grow suit turned out quite sweet.
I hope it inspires you to give it a go.

Products Used:
Silhouette Heat Transfer Pink Rhinestones
Baby Grow Suit from Target

Tutorial:
Cut the desired design from of the flocked Heat Transfer Material using the Silhouette Machine.
(Use the pink cap and copy & paste the design on the mat so it cuts it twice)
Position onto your clothing item, bag etc. Cover with a cloth & iron with a dry iron set to cotton.
Allow to cool & gently remove backing. (If not completely attached simply cover & iron again)
I then repeated the process to iron on the rhinestones.
Just imagine how many inexpensive personalised gifts you could make for your family & friends........the possibilities are endless.

DIE COMPATIBILITY:
You can also cut the heat transfer material with a Spellbinder die, Sizzix Original,  Bigz die ( thick style die) or Cuttlebug die .......wont work with Sizzlitz or Quickutz Dies due to the heavy plastic backing. I used a Cuttlebug machine to test it.

BUTTERFLY CARD SET By Joy Taylor

Hi Everyone,
Our Guest Designer Joy has made a pretty card set to share todayI hope you enjoy it.

Products Used:
Cardstocks :  White, Pink, Blue & Green
Embossing Folders : Sizzix - Hello Friend & Dots and Flowers
Cuttlebug - Stylised Flowers
Stamps :  Hero Arts -  Everyday Sayings and Birthday Sayings
Inkpad : Memento Tuxedo Black
Rhinestones

Tutorial
Cut white card stock to size, fold in half and set aside.
Take blue, pink and green card stock and measure slightly smaller then the card front and cut.
Run each coloured card stock through the Cuttlebug, embossing each piece with an embossing folder.
Take the 1 3/4 inch round punch and punch a circle out of each coloured card stock and mount the card stock to the front of the card using some foam dimensionals.
Adhere each butterfly inside the punched circle with some Glossy Accents.(Glossy Accents - is a good sturdy adhesive which is strong enough to hold 3D embellishments in place if mailing your cards)
Next, take some more white card stock and cut 3 tags and stamp sentiments onto each.
Adhere rhinestones to the tags and attach to the coloured card stock using foam dimensionals.

SPELLBINDER NESTABILITIES DIES - How do they work?

Hi Everyone,
I get quite a few questions on Spellbinder Nestabilities Dies & how they work.
I came across this great post on the Spellbinders Blog so I thought I would share it with you.
I hope it helps to explain how they work.
How Do Nestabilities Dies Work?
Review courtesy of Beth (Spellbinder Paper Arts Blog)
I’ve recently answered some questions online about Nestabilities®. I thought I would share the answers here, along with photos because I am a visual learner, maybe you are too? I chose the ever popular Classic Ovals as an example, and used graph paper as a background (the squares are 1/4″).
These Ovals sets have five die templates, and the cut line within a set is 1/2 inch apart, by length and width. Measurements for each die template are listed on the detailed product information, just click on the die template name. I’m using S4-110 Classic Ovals LG , S4-111 Classic Scalloped Ovals LG, S4-112 Classic Ovals SM and S4-113 Classic Scalloped Ovals SM.

When you cut die templates within a set , you can stack or layer the die cuts to get a 1/4″ mat all the way around, like this:

The straight edged and scalloped edged set measure 1/2″ apart, allowing you to marry the sets and retain that nice 1/4″ mat.

Or you can layer the LG and SM sets this way, which will give you a 1/8″ mat all the way around:

Mix and match within the sets for the sized mat you need.  (Note that when we refer to a die template #, we are counting from the smallest die template to the largest within a set.)

The options are endless!
But wait, what about the Nestabilities that don’t have a LG or SM size designation, such as the Labels? That means they only come in one size, the die templates will measure 1/2″ apart in length and width, and will allow for a 1/4″ mat when stacking and layering. See how nice this looks with S4-161 Labels One:

I know you really want to see the Nestabilities in action, so lets take a look at some art from our 2010 Design Team!  Ashley Cannon Newell layered S4-233 Labels Nine on her Miss You card:

Julie Overby used the S5-023 Mega Ovals LG and S5-024 Mega Classic Scalloped Ovals LG on this Bath Gift Set:

I hope I have increased your abilities with Spellbinders™ Nestabilities!
(Thanks Beth for all the wonderful information.)
