Sending Hugs

Hi, Ann here today, and I'm back with a sweet little card using just the Go Wild elephant by Gerda Steiner.

Did I mention that I thought the elephant image was so cute?  I'm sure I did, because just look at him!

I thought of a baby card as soon as I coloured him, but this card isn't specific - it's just sending a hug!

I created a standard top folding card from white card measuring 10.5 x 28.5cm.

My stitched circle background was coloured with my favourite Oxide inks - Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick, Cracked Pistachio and a little Broken China.  These oxide inks blend so well - I hope you give them a try!  The circle was then splattered with water for a little texture and attached to the card front with Mono Multi Glue.

The elephant was stamped onto blending card with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with pale greys and a little blush for his toes.  C1, C2, C5 and R20 were the only colours used.  He was attached using foam dots.

The 'hugs' word was cut using peach cardstock (peach and grey go so well together IMO) and was glued beneath the circle using Mono Multi Glue.

I cut SENDING from a sentiment in the MFT Happy Pandas stamp set, and cut a small banner around it. This was also attached with foam dots.  A thin strip of washi was added below it as a grounding base.

A simple but pretty card, which I think anyone would smile when they received it!

Thanks so much for visiting today, and do try to find some crafting time for yourself!

altered jewellery box - by Lynn Good

Hi there, Lynn here with a jewellery box that I have decorated using the awesome 49 & Market paper from the Heirloom Botanicals collection

This is the jewellery box - which I can remember where I got it from as it has been in my cupboard for a while!

I painted all the edges with Distress Paint - Victorian Velvet.  I used Finnabairs Art Alchemy Sparks paint - Butterfly Spells for around the mirro and the ring holder.

The rest was ALOT of fussy cutting!

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and til next time - Happy Crafting :)

A Wonderful Day with Angela

Hi there Angela here using the fabulous Concord & 9th stamp set and matching dies.  I love this company, they have a great range, go and check out the shop ♥
Today I have used the new Many Mandala set and a little bit of old... vellum and embossing.
I wanted to add a sentiment, but I didn't know where I wanted it, so I repeat stamped the sentiment in a light ink so not to overpower the focal point.

*Trim black cardstock 12cm x 18cm and fold in half
*trim Neenah white cardstock 12 cm x 8.7cm
*using a small acrylic block ink up sentiment with Hickory Smoke and stamp repeatedly along the whole card
* Using the Many Mandalas die, die cut along the bottom right as shown in sample.
* stamp and emboss the small matching stamp ( that fits inside the die) and emboss with silver embossing powder.
* Emboss the smaller shape and die cut.
*Adhere the vellum along the inside to match up behind the die cut shape on the front.
*using the pop dots adhere the smaller shape to the middle and finish with a silver enamel dot
*Adhere to black base card.
