"Hey" Scrapbook Layout + process video by Louise

 Hi Crafers

I'd like to share a new layout - "Hey"

I recently had the honor of attending a mixed media background workshop with Natalie May and she said something that stuck with me "Don't think - just Do!"

So I gathered some supplies and "Did!?"

I've used Colour Blast Mica powder in Cool Mint to create my background.

Pop Up Image

This layout started as an experiment in mixed media.

Other embellishing on the page is some chipboard circles and flourishes.

Flowers from 49 & Market and chipboard stickers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

The bonus is that I decided to video the process so that I could share it with you.

One final tip ...
The mica powder is still reactive, so I've sealed my layout with clear spray sealer!
Also good if you wanted to add additional mediums over the top, so the mica powder doesn't blend.

Thanks for visiting.

Faerie Dreams

Hello everyone!  Ann here with a simple little faerie card, using pigment powders to create an amazing and unique background.  Although I have used  Ken Oliver's Color Burst powders, which I bought a little while ago, currently at Scrapbook Boutique there are newer products which would work just the same.  In particular, Lindy's Stamp Gang pack in either Industrial Chic or Prairie Wildflowers would be a great choice, or individual Mica powders, which leave a lovely shimmer.  The little die is by Memory Box and is called Graceful Faerie, and SBB have this one and several more faeries to choose from.

The method I use for creating with these concentrated pigment powders, is to sprinkle them lightly onto dry watercolour card - never squeeze, just tap the bottom of the bottle lightly.  Also, I choose complementary colours, or those which will blend to make a new pretty colour, not opposites, which will leave a muddy mess.  I have used lemon, aquamarine and a little lime on this card.   I bought these colours a little while ago, so they may not all be available at Scrapbook Boutique currently, but I encourage you to take a look there as there may be more coming soon.  The faerie die is new in stock.

The coloured square measures 8.5cm, the black mat is 10.3cm square and my base white card is a square 12 x 12cm.  The embellishments are Ranger Enamel Accents in black and Caribbean Coast.  The sentiment is by Mama Elephant - Labeled Messages.

I went a little mad with Faeries, so if you are interested, there are three more faerie cards on my blog if you'd like to take a look:)

Thank you so much for stopping by - I hope you enjoy your own crafty time!

12x12 layout by Lynn Good

Hi there, Lynn here sharing a layout I made using the 7 Dots Studio - Cotton Candy Dreams collection.

I began by placing cut up strips from the 6x6 pad and punching with a EK Success punch.  I then have placed them around where my photo mat would be.

I have them used Paper Artsy stamp - EKC07 and randomly stamped two of the stamps from the set around the layout.  These have been embossed with Lindy Stamp Gang Embossing Powder - Oakleaf Olive and Orbit Olive Gold.

I have then used Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals - Frosty Forest Green and watered down gesso and splattered around the layout.

The Scrap FX chipboard has been painted with Finnabair Sparks paint - Unicorn's Hair and Fairy Wings.

I have linked the products used to the store below.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time Happy Crafting.
